ABOUT US The MBNA serves to promote and improve the quality of life, common good and general welfare of hotels and condominiums within the MidBeach area of Miami Beach, Florida. The area extends along Collins Avenue and Indian Creek Drive, bordered on the south by 24th Street and extending north to 63rd Street. Matters of interest include, but are not limited to; development, beach erosion and sargassum, street beautification projects, flooding, area beautification, traffic control and safety, the Beachwalk, GO Bond projects, crime prevention, noise, and other issues of common interest or concern.
MBNA acts as liaison with the City of Miami Beach, Miami-Dade County, the State of Florida and their respective agencies to ensure that the issues impacting the Association and its MidBeach residents are effectively represented. MBNA representatives devote their time and energy to improve and enhance the well-defined geographic area where they live and do business. The Association is a not-for-profit corporation organized pursuant to Chapter 617 Florida Statutes. Only Condominium Associations (or Cooperatives) and Hotels located within the Defined Area are eligible for membership. Each Member may have up to two (2) representatives in attendance at every MBNA meeting with one vote per member. Representatives must be authorized by the Condo Associations or Hotels to be their designated representatives.
As of January, 2024, the MBNA has a total of 64 Members; (45 Condominiums and 19 Hotels) representing over 12,000 units. HISTORY The original "MidBeach Neighborhood Alliance" was founded in May, 2012, with the valuable assistance of Attorney Michael Gongora and FirstService Residential Management. Membership did not grow as expected so in September, 2015, the Alliance was inactivated. In early 2017, Michael Gongora met with Alicia Casanova, and they decided MidBeach representation was necessary so they re-organized as the "MidBeach Neighborhood Association" (MBNA), a non-profit community grassroots organization. On March 14, 2017, the organization was registered with the Florida Department of State with a newly elected Executive Board of Directors and established By-Laws.
