These forums are among the most widely viewed events MBNA hosts each year and for good reason. MidBeach wants its voice heard. We believe nothing is beyond the reach of strong leadership. Candidates have been encouraged to familiarize themselves with the local landscape: the Miami Beach Promenade, Indian Creek Drive, the Beachwalk, Collins Avenue, MidBeach Park, the 46th Street Lot, the 63rd Street Bridge, Indian Creek Waterway, our beach and sand activities and Sargassum, homelessness, our condominiums, hotels, businesses and more.
Our community is also bisected by one of Miami Beach’s most vital yet long-neglected corridors, 41st Street, and is home to unique civic and cultural assets that deserve thoughtful leadership. We care deeply about preserving our architectural heritage, honoring our distinct history, and advancing projects that align with our identity and enhance our neighborhoods. From public art to parades to horses on the beach, MidBeach welcomes it all, provided we can move about safely and it benefits our overall community.
While broader citywide priorities, such as economic development, environmental stewardship, public safety, transportation, connectivity, and responsible growth, may be touched upon in relation to east MidBeach, the more comprehensive policy debates will be reserved for larger forums, such as those hosted by Miami Beach United (MBU). MBU will hold two in-person candidate events at the Miami Beach Woman’s Club: the Mayoral Forum on Tuesday, September 30, and the Commission Forum on Thursday, October 9.
Voting is one of the most important tools we have to make a difference. Please be sure you're registered, and feel free to forward this invitation to neighbors, hotel owners, management teams, board leaders, and staff.
