The MBNA reviews proposals for new development and preservation and provides feedback to the City if necessary. We also keep track of buildings where construction has been abandoned and buildings appear derelict and have become an eyesore and/or a safety issue for our community.
DERELICT BUILDINGS
FEBRUARY, 2025 video clip showing the six current DERELICT BUILDINGS in MidBeach:
Below is a slideshow of photos taken on October 19, 2024 of derelict structures on Indian Creek Drive between 27th and 29th streets.
On the corner of 29th and Indian Creek Drive there are two separate old buildings. One was an apartment building and the other one a Hotel. Both of these have been abandoned for over ten years. They are currently an eyesore to the community. The Historic Preservation Board had already approved the tear down of the corner building and the old apartment building was going to be restored. Property has been for sale for several years and now the Owners are in the process of petitioning for a complete tear down of both buildings.
